Our Story
fáil - te [fall - cha] noun
1. Gaelic word meaning welcome and joy
It’s not just our name—it’s our purpose.
Why We Exist
Fáilte Microschool was created for families who feel like the traditional school system isn’t serving their child. Whether your child is neurodivergent, twice exceptional, highly sensitive, or simply doesn’t fit the mold, they deserve more than rigid classrooms and standardized expectations. They deserve to be supported, celebrated, and seen.
What We Believe
At Fáilte, we honor each child’s mind, body, and spirit. Our approach blends Waldorf philosophy, modern literacy practices, trauma-informed teaching, and DIR Floortime, a relationship-based developmental model that centers emotional connection and child-led growth.

Children learn in small, mixed-age groups, at their own pace, with plenty of time to move, play, and explore. This is more than an education—it’s a space where kids rediscover the joy of learning and feel safe enough to grow.

How We Began
Our school started as a deeply personal journey—first created by a parent and educator for her own child. What began as a homeschooling solution became a community of learners discovering a new way forward: one rooted in flexibility, emotional safety, and connection.

Jennifer
Director/Founder
Jennifer is an educator, Floortime specialist, instructional coach, and parent—who saw, firsthand, how the school system can extinguish a child’s joy. With a degree in Special Education and over a decade of experience supporting diverse learners, Jennifer has worked in classrooms, homes, and entire school communities to champion child-centered education. But it wasn’t until her own son began to struggle in kindergarten that her work took on a new shape.

After choosing to homeschool him, Jennifer witnessed a dramatic transformation—one that became the blueprint for Fáilte Microschool. Today, she brings her passion, training, and unwavering belief in children’s capacity to thrive into every part of the school she leads.
Suzie
Assistant Teacher
With more than 40 years of experience in early childhood education, Suzie brings a wealth of wisdom, warmth, and creativity to the Fáilte community. A certified teacher with a background in Waldorf education and special needs support, she has spent her career crafting classrooms where every child is valued and heard.

After retiring from traditional teaching, Suzie was inspired by Fáilte’s mission and couldn’t stay away. Her background in curriculum development, her love for holistic learning, and her talents as an artist and reenactor bring depth and joy to every school day. We’re grateful to have her guiding and growing alongside our students.
